Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Harkins and Wilson (Seven Points Each) Lead Lacrosse Past St. Elizabeth

Box Score

Kim Harkins and Meghan Wilson each had six goals and an assist as the Albright College women's lacrosse team got back on track with a 19-7 victory over the College of St. Elizabeth, Saturday in Shirk Stadium.

Freshman Tia Claxton had a hat trick, while Nicole Rohrbach had two goals, one assist and seven draw controls.

The Lions struck several times early after forcing goalie turnovers. Less than six minutes in, Wilson stripped Barbara Beresova and put her shot in to make it 2-0. Two minutes later, another turnover led to Claxton's goal and a 3-0 Albright advantage.

Sarah Nale made a nice defensive play midway through the opening half, tipping a clear opportunity over the bar from close range.

Wilson scored twice in a span of 20 seconds, finding the net and then winning the ensuing draw and going in all alone for another goal. Harkins then made a great cut through several defenders to put the  Lions up 8-1.

The Lions scored three goals in a span of just 26 seconds late in the first half. After Wilson's tally, Rohrbach won the draw and took it all the way in, the second time in the game that an Albright player had scored untouched off the draw. Rohrbach won the next restart as well and fed Harkins to make it 13-4.

The score was 13-5 at the break, after the Eagles' Amy Rowe notched a goal with just three seconds on the clock.

Albright goalie Arlena Diep made a nice low save to protect a 10-goal cushion early in the second half, and then did it again with a tough net save midway through the period. Harkins' free position goal soon pushed the Lions' lead to 16-5.

Meghan Murray had a hat trick for St. Elizabeth, along with three draw controls and two forced turnovers. Veronica Stawinski added a goal and an assist.

Albright improves to 4-6 and will host Misericordia University next Saturday. St. Elizabeth is 1-3 on the year.
