The Albright College women's tennis team showed its depth with a 6-3 victory, Tuesday at Eastern University.
Sophomore
Melissa Carberry stepped into second singles and first doubles and won at both, taking a 6-4, 6-1 result over
Jenn Balbi in her individual match. In the top doubles spot, Carberry and classmate
Alyssa Sell won 8-2 over Balbi and
Jenna Laubach.
Freshman
Erin Sullivan won a tough 6-3, 7-5 decision at third singles, and sophomore
Christina Peacock won 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles.
Playing with all underclassmen, the Lions swept the doubles matches. Peacock and freshman
Lauren Sperling won 8-4 at second doubles and Sullivan and
Katie Wolf were 8-5 victors at third doubles.
The Lions improve to 4-1, and remain a perfect 4-0 against Division III competition in 2012-13. Albright hosts Penn State-Berks on Friday.
