Widener pulled away early in the second half as the Albright College women's basketball team dropped a 70-56 decision at the Pride on Tuesday evening.

Sophomore
Kelecia Harris made 9-of-14 field goals and finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Junior
Jessica Venturelli added nine points and four assists, while classmate
Amanda Tiritilli had eight points and three assists.
Widener opened the second half on a 13-3 run ending in an
Ally Ferrucci layup to gave the Pride a 45-30 lead. Harris finished a layup but Ferrucci came right back with a three-point play to make it 48-32.
Harris scored with 3:48 remaining to get Albright back within single-digits, and
Meghan Boyle followed with a hoop to cut the deficit to 58-51.
Jennifer Egee soon converted however, and then stole a
Kristi McFadden pass and drained a three-pointer to push the gap back to 12.
Harris scored on the game's first two shots to give Albright a 4-0 lead, but Egee and
Joanna Persiano hit threes to quickly hand Widener a four-point advantage.
Boyle sank a layup with 14:46 remaining in the first half, but neither team could score for a stretch of over four minutes before Persiano converted for the Pride.
Venturelli drained a three-pointer with 8:29 left before the break to keep Albright within a point following a short Widener run, but Egee answered right back from downtown at the other end.
Emily O'Donnell hit a basket and was fouled in the final seconds before halftime. She missed the and-one opportunity, but the Lions still went into the break trailing by just five, 32-27.
The Lions fall to 2-2, 0-1 and will host Arcadia on December 4 in their Commonwealth Conference home opener.
