The Albright College women's tennis team started off their fall season with a tough match against Moravian, losing 7-2.
Moravian traveled to Reading for their fourth game of the fall season, and traveled back to Bethlehem adding another win to their now 4-0 record.
Albright took the courts for their fall season opener with a lineup of returning players from last year and the addition of freshman
Brooke Ronney.
At first doubles,
Victoria Foanio and
Alyssa Sell gave Albright the first overall game point of the day, winning 8-6. Although a close match, the returning first doubles pair strategized to keep the score in their favor.
Albright's third doubles,
Christina Peacock and
Erin Sullivan, battled Moravian for a tough set, but lost their advantage in the last three games of play and left the court with an 8-6 loss.
At first singles,
Victoria Foanio played a great two sets, adding another point to the Albright Lions' scoreboard with a solid 6-2, 6-2 win.
Ronney, playing second singles for her Albright College women's tennis debut, battled her opponent each point but Moravian took the match. The final score for both sets, 5-7,4-6, showed the close competition.
