Women's Soccer Battles to Scoreless Draw with FDU-Florham

MADISON, N.J. -- The Albright women's soccer team battled Fairleigh Dickinson College at Florham to a scoreless draw on Wednesday at Robert Shields Field as the two teams played through 110 minutes of action to a 0-0 result.

In a defensive battle, neither team reached double figures in shots on the evening. FDU-Florham recorded nine shots, but only three were on goal and Albright finished with seven shots and five on goal.

Jaymee Stepp notched the shutout in goal for Albright as she turned away three shots, while Annie George didn't allow a goal for the Devils and made five saves. Stepp ran her record to 3-2-1 on the season with the draw.

Emily Diaz, Crissy Terraces and Sara Glatzhofer each had two shots to lead the Lions, while Rachel Snyder added one shot. Diaz had two shots on goal, while Terraces, Glatzhofer and Snyder each had one on net.

Snyder had the Lions only scoring opportunity in the first overtime, but her shot was saved by George at the 91:40 mark. FDU-Florham also had one shot attempt in the first overtime, but it went wide.

Albright, which saw its record go to 4-5-1 overall, mustered the only scoring chances in the second overtime. Glatzhofer fired a shot wide, and George made a save on a shot by Diaz.

Albright opens Commonwealth Conference play on Saturday (Oct. 4) when it visits Hood at 1 p.m.
