GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Albright College field hockey team was shutout 4-0 by Arcadia University in Commonwealth Conference action at Arcadia University field Saturday afternoon.
The Lions (1-13, 1-2 CC) managed only three shots at the goal in the contest. The Knights (8-5, 2-1 CC) opened the scoring less than five minutes in when Rachel Longenecker put a shot into the into the right corner of the net from the top of the arc.
The Lions were able to keep the game close until Debbie Wolfe scored at the 28:28 mark to inginte a three goal outburst by the Knights in less than three minutes to take a 4-0 lead into the break.
The Lions were outshot 14-2 in the first half, with
Amanda Smith and
Tracy Snyder firing attempts at the Arcadia net, but Albright was unable to muster a shot on goal, while the Knights registered six shots.
Neither team would find the back of the net in the second half, as Arcadia registered the only shot on goal in three attempts. Kendra Delagado was credited with the a shot at goal for Albright.
Gabby Frake made three saves in goal for Albright, Brittany Hodson did not face a shot in recording the victory for Arcadia.
The Lions travel to King's College for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
