Faight Scores in Field Hockey Loss at Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Facing its second ranked team on the road in three days, the Albright College field hockey team lost to 16th-ranked Lebanon Valley 9-1 in a Commonwealth Conference game on Saturday at Arnold Field.

The Lions, who played at The College of New Jersey on Thursday night, had the difficult task of regrouping for a conference game against the Dutchmen on Saturday.

Mackenzie Faight tallied the lone goal for Albright, which was her second of the season at the 22:29 mark of the first half on an assist from Jessie Leonardis.

Lebanon Valley, which improved to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in Commonwealth Conference play, received four goals from Lyndee Sheaffer and two goals each from Lauren Brumbach and Maddie Fox.

Lebanon Valley jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game, but Faight trimmed the lead to 3-1 with her goal. The Dutchmen tacked on three more goals to take a 6-1 lead into the intermission.

Gabby Frake made 10 saves in goal for Albright, while Amanda Smith, Kasey Neiderer, Faight, Lauren Swavely and Rachael Jones each had a shot for the Lions.

Albright returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 9) when it travels to Immaculata to face the Mighty Macs at 4 p.m.
