Omari Ringgold scored a team-high 17 points and
Evan Dunn added 13 points as Albright recorded its third-straight victory with a 75-62 non-conference victory over Penn State-Harrisburg on Saturday in the Bollman Center.
Ringgold was 6-of-11 from the field, including 2-of-3 from the three-point line, and 3-of-4 from the free throw line to finish with 17 points. He also added two rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes. Dunn was 6-of-7 from the floor and 1-of-1 from the charity line, while also collecting five rebounds.
Evan Ward narrowly missed a double-double as he finished with 11 points and nine rebounds. He also added three assists, two blocks and two steals.
Devin Brown had a perfect shooting night for Albright as he was 3-of-3 from the floor, including making his only three-point attempt, and 6-of-6 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points.
Albright shot a blistering 66.7 percent from the floor in the first half and finished the game shooting 56.5 percent overall. Albright limited Penn State-Harrisburg to just 35.9 percent shooting from the field.
Albright (3-1) used a big run midway through the first half to take control of the game.
Leading 16-15, Albright ripped off a 14-2 run to take a 30-17 lead with 6:41 remaining in the first half. Dunn sparked the run with eight points off the bench and
Gilberto Benz also chipped in with six points.
After a three-pointer by Caleb Barwin cut the Lion lead to 39-28, Brown answered with a three-pointer and
DeJuan Smith added a pair of free throws as Albright took a 44-28 lead into the intermission.
Penn State-Harrisburg (0-4) never got the deficit under 10 points until a basket by Alberto De Los Santos cut the lead to 68-59 with 1:40 to play in the game. Albright answered with a free throw from Smith and four free throws from Brown to push the lead to 73-59 with 56 seconds remaining in the game.
The victory by the Lions was the 200th-career win for head coach
Rick Ferry who is in his 14th season at the helm of the program.
Albright returns to action on Tuesday (Nov. 25) when it hosts Misericordia at 7 p.m. in the Bollman Center.
