The hosts' shot advantage was just 28-15, but Stevenson goalies
Leanne Bittner and
Maggie Lawder combined to stop six of 11 shots on goal compared to just four saves for the Red and White. Albright also managed just 7-of-14 clears against the Mustangs, who are receiving votes in the IWLCA national poll.
Freshman
Giuliana Rizzotti scored twice for Albright, while
Erin Farrell,
Rebecca Sartorio and
Mariah Cullen each added one goal.
Sophomore
Nicole Klusewitz had a team-high four ground balls and won two draw controls.
Meghan Wilson (one assist) and
Amanda Smith caused two turnovers each.
Rizzotti opened Albright's scoring with 11:03 left in the first half, converting a free position shot to make it 6-1.
The Mustangs benefitted from four man-up goals in the first half, and ran off 10 straight in the 11 minutes following Rizzotti's goal.
Farrell scored right off the draw to open the second half, and Cullen added a man-up goal with 1:33 played in the second period.
Senior
Marissa Meiklejohn had five goals for Stevenson, with
Leah Warner adding three assists. Freshman
Olivia Monteiro added four points on two goals and two assists.
Albright is 5-6, 0-1 and hosts Widener on Wednesday afternoon in a game that will be crucial for the Lions' Commonwealth standing.
