Junior
Philip Potter had a hat trick and an assist, while his brother
Andrew Potter added a goal and two assists. Also turning in multi-point days were
T.J. Holston (3G, 1A),
Cam Cetrone (1G, 1A) and
Derek Stump (2A).
Defensively, senior
Sean Cunningham had three caused turnovers and four ground balls.
Darian Meador added seven ground balls while winning 14-of-20 faceoffs.
Matt Wighard and
Kenny Pastore caused two turnovers apiece.
Hood struck first through
Randolph Clark, as the Lions were held scoreless for more than half of the opening quarter.
Phil Potter finally got the Lions on the board, and Holston gave them a lead with 6:38 left in the first period.
Matthew Lomady and
Bryan Smith scored 20 seconds apart for a 4-1 lead.
The Blazers twice cut it to one, as
Tai Foster tallied consecutive goals for a 4-3 scoreline and
Alex Villegas made it 5-4.
Stump assisted Holston with 6:43 left in the third quarter, and A. Potter struck less than two minutes later to give the Red and White a 7-4 advantage.
Phil Potter (twice), Cetrone and
Justin Brown keyed a 4-0 Albright run in the fourth quarter.
Albright concludes the 2014 regular season with a record of 10-5, 6-2 and will travel to Widener on Thursday at 8 p.m. for a Commonwealth Conference semifinal. It will be the third straight year that the two teams meet in the playoffs, with the Pride taking the previous two meetings by a combined margin of three goals.
