Wilson had scored twice in the first half to move to 99 career goals. She just missed on several occasions the rest of the period however, as she was saved four times in the opening half alone.

Rizzotti opened the scoring after Rebecca Sartorio's first shot was blocked. Tori Meyer scored in the third minute of play to make it 2-0.

Wilson assisted two straight goals, to Rizzotti and Cullen, to make it 6-0. She then had a free position shot of her own that saved by Couch.

Hood finally had its first successful clear with 16:50 remaining in the first half, scoring to make it a 7-1 game. Jacabacci's first goal of the game pushed the Lions' lead to 11-2 later in the half. Sophomore Nicole Klusewitz ripped a shot off the crossbar in the final two minutes of the period.
