Box Score

The Albright College women's tennis team was knocked out of the Commonwealth Conference postseason at Lebanon Valley, in a 5-0 semifinal loss.

The match was twice postponed due to rain, and finally took place Thursday afternoon in Annville.

Singles play did not last long, as Brooke Ronney (#2) and Elizabeth Bengtsson (#5) were swept 6-0, 6-0 and the other matches were left unfinished with the decision clinched.

The Dutchmen swept doubles play to take a 3-0 lead into singles. Lori Noble and Lauren Shanberg shut out Melissa Carberry and Christina Peacock 8-0 in the third spot to open the match.

Ronney and Erin Sullivan were defeated 8-4 at second doubles and Victoria Foanio and Alyssa Sell lost 8-3 in the top spot.

The other four singles matches were early in the second set at the time the result was clinched.

Albright concludes its season with a record of 13-6, despite a second playoff exit at LVC in the last three years. Lebanon Valley (11-4) will travel to Elizabethtown for Saturday's Commonwealth championship.
