King's Halts Women's Soccer Winning Streak

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. -- The Albright women's soccer team saw its two-match winning streak come to an end on Saturday as the Lions were defeated by King's 2-0 in non-conference play in McCarthy Stadium.

After scoring six goals in their previous two matches, the Lions were unable to get on the scoreboard against the Monarchs. Albright had defeated Ursinus 4-2 and Goucher 2-1 in the two previous matches prior to Saturday's game against King's.

King's, which improved to 2-1-2 on the season, scored a goal in each half to claim the victory. Savannah Tucker scored at the 25:26 mark of the first half giving the Monarchs a 1-0 lead and Alexandra Garrett added a goal at the 50:59 mark of the second half.

Albright had seven shots on the afternoon led by Crissy Terraces who had two shots. Rebecca Sartorio, Emily Sousa, Megan O'Brien, Lyra Biancamano and Natalie Wilson each had a shot for the Lions.

Jaymee Stepp made three saves in goal for Albright, while Jessica Natale picked up the victory for King's by making four saves.
