Four-Goal Third Leads Albright Past Mary Washington

TOWSON, Md.Bryan Smith, T.J. Holston, Cam Cetrone and Derek Stump each scored goals during a decisive third period as Albright pulled away from Mary Washington in the second half on its way to a 9-6 non-conference victory on Saturday at Loyola Blakefield High School.

The Lions and Eagles were deadlocked at 3-3 at the intermission, but Albright outscored Mary Washington 4-1 in the third period.

T.J. Holston, who led the Lions with three goals, started the scoring for Albright with a goal at the 13:47 mark off a feed from Andrew Potter.

Miles Davis answered for Mary Washington with the equalizer with 10:25 left in the third.

Cetrone then put Albright ahead to stay when he scored with 8:56 to play in the third period off a feed from Smith giving the Lions a 5-4 lead.

Stump scored off a Philip Potter pass to up the lead to 6-4 with 7:54 to play, and Smith capped the third with a goal off a helper from Ryan Turner to up the lead to 7-4 after three periods of play.

Davis scored at the 11:57 mark of the fourth to cut the lead to 7-5, but Philip Potter answered with a goal to increase the margin to 8-5 with 9:58 remaining in the game.

Holston tacked on his third goal of the game at the 1:57 mark to put the game away for the Lions.

Albright extended its winning streak to four straight and improved to 10-2 on the season with the victory. Mary Washington dropped to 5-7 overall with the loss.

Holston's three goals marked the seventh consecutive game in which he has scored at least two goals for Albright. Philip Potter and Smith each had two goals, while Cetrone and Stump finished with one goal each.

Turner had three helpers to lead Albright, while Andrew Potter notched a pair of assists.

Nicholas Pisko turned aside 10 shots, which ties for his second highest total this season, in goal to pick up the win for Albright in goal and improve to 10-2 on the season.

Led by Pisko, the Albright defense has permitted just seven goals in the last two games combined.

Albright returns to action on Wednesday (April 15) when it faces Messiah in a Commonwealth Conference contest beginning at 4 p.m. in Grantham, Pa.
