Lycoming Overtakes Albright with Second-Period Rally

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.Meghan Wilson, Erin Farrell and Corinne Donohue each scored three goals, but Meghenn Jackson scored on a free-position shot with 1:35 to play capping a big comeback and lifting Lycoming to a 14-13 Commonwealth Conference victory over Albright on Saturday at Shangraw Complex.

Albright had tied the game at 13-13 on a free-position goal, but Jackson scored her 58th goal of the season with 1:35 to play putting Lycoming back in front.

Lycoming controlled the ensuing draw control and the Lions were never able to gain possession to attempt a game-tying shot.

Lycoming opened the second period on a 5-0 run that gave the Warriors a 10-9 lead with 24:10 to play.

Farrell tallied her 38th goal of the season on a free-position goal to knot the score at 10-10 with 22:50 left in the second.

Casey Maguire put Lycoming back in front with a goal at the 22:33 mark, but Albright responded with goals from Donohue and Wilson to take a 12-11 lead with 14:17 left in the contest.

Jackson then countered with back-to-back goals to regain the lead for Lycoming at 13-12 with 7:54 left in the second period.

Donohue tied the score for Albright with 5:39 to play, but Jackson's seventh goal of the game gave Lycoming the victory.

Albright used a 6-1 run to end the first half to take a 9-5 lead into the intermission.

Trailing 4-3, Sydney Nankervis tied the game at 4-4 with a goal at the 18:40 mark of the first.
