FREDERICK, Md. – Brooke Ronney and Melissa Carberry each won singles matches for Albright, but the Lions dropped a 5-4 Commonwealth Conference match to Hood on Thursday at the Hood Tennis Complex.

Albright won two of three in doubles competition to begin the match.

The team of Erin Sullivan and Ronney defeated Olivia Hosch and Michelle Shedd 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and the duo of Carberry and Leah Wiley topped Meaghan Donahue and Sophie Smith 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.

The Lions opened singles play with a pair of victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions.

Ronney defeated Hosch 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Carberry topped Shedd 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 at No. 2 singles.

The Blazers then rallied to win the four remaining singles matches to secure the victory.

Hood improved to 3-5 overall and 2-0 in Commonwealth Conference play, while Albright fell to 5-3 overall and 0-1 in conference action.
