ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Albright field hockey team fell to Eastern on Saturday afternoon 4-1 at Field Hockey Field.

With the loss Albright drops to 1-3 overall, while Eastern improves to 3-1 on the year.

Albright's goalie Aileen Taylor made a season-high 15 saves in the cage, but she suffered the loss in 70 minutes of play. Nicole Berger gave up one goal and stopped three shots to pick up the win for Eastern.

Eastern had four different players score in the game.  Albright's senior Jessie Leonardis tallied the lone goal for the Lions.

Eastern scored three goals in the first half of play by way of Lauren Gay at the 8:38 mark, Gina Miller at 20:55 and Jessica Kinzler at 23:57.

In the first half, Eastern had a total of 20 shots compared to Albright's seven. At the half Eastern claimed a 3-0 lead.

The Lions got on the board with 46:34 in the second stanza as Leonardis scored her first goal of the year past Berger to cut the lead 3-1.

The Eagles offense continued to carry into the second frame and just seconds before the horn went off, Shannon Kelliher scored the final goal to give Eastern the 4-1 edge.

Albright's Amanda Smith had six shots in the game with two on target to lead the team. Sophomore Tracy Snyder posted two shots on the afternoon.

For the game, The Lions were outshot 42-12 and Eastern had the edge in penalty corners 19-3.
