BETHLEHEM, Pa. --
Emily Sousa scored for Albright, but Lauren Bertucci scored with 41 seconds left in regulation lifting the Moravian women's soccer team to a 2-1 non-conference victory over the Lions on Thursday at the HUB Quad.
Moravian was awarded a corner kick at the 89:14 mark of the second period, which was taken by Valarie Margiottello. Bertucci headed in the corner kick past Albright goalie
Payton Bogatch with just 41 seconds remaining to secure the victory for the Greyhounds.
After a scoreless first period Moravian broke through early in the second period.
Brittney Peter scored off of a corner kick at the 51:52 mark to give Moravian a 1-0 lead.
Albright would rally to tie the match just over eight minutes later. Sousa drilled a penalty kick past Greyhound keeper Jacqueline Zalis to tie the match at 1-1 at the 60:10 mark of the second period.
Albright had chances to take the lead in the second period as it had three shots and four corner kicks against the Greyhounds.
Moravian outshot the Lions 19-7 for the match and had 10 corner kicks to six for the Lions.
Bogatch made her first career start in goal for Albright and made nine saves. Zalis had three saves in net for Moravian to earn the win.
Albright dropped to 2-4-2 overall on the season with the loss, while Moravian improved to 2-3-1 on the season.
