CRESSON, Pa. --
Oumar Diawara and
Adam Brosonski each scored second-half goals, but the Albright men's soccer team's rally fell short in a 3-2 loss to Mount Aloysius on Sunday.
Albright, which dropped to 1-1 on the season, fell behind 3-0 before staging a second-half comeback.
Mount Aloysius (1-1) took an early lead when Ricky Abbs scored on a header off a corner kick just 3:28 into the match. That lead held up as the Mounties took a 1-0 lead into the intermission.
The Mounties then increased the lead to 3-0 when Kevin Ouellette scored two goals just one minute apart. He made it 2-0 Mount Aloysius on a rebound at the 56:53 mark and then scored again at 57:54 to up the lead to 3-0.
Albright would not fold though as it staged a furious comeback.
Brosonski got Albright on the board when he converted a header off of a Lion corner kick at the 75:50 mark of the second period.
Diawara then brought the Lions to within 3-2 when he drilled a shot from the top of the box at the 80:03 mark.
The Lions were unable to get anything past Mount Aloysius keeper Justin Haan for the remainder of the match as he picked up the victory and made five saves.
Senior
Austin Aldinger made four saves in net for Albright.
Albright will open the home portion of its 2015 schedule when it hosts McDaniel at 7 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 9) at Shirk Stadium.
