FREDERICK, Md. –
Omari Ringgold and
Brandon Lindsay combined to score 41 points and Albright snapped a six-game losing streak with a 90-59 MAC Commonwealth victory over Hood on Saturday at BB&T Arena.

Ringgold scored 21 points and Lindsay added a career-high 20 points to lead the Lions to their first victory since a 67-65 victory over Widener on Jan. 6.

Albright used a solid shooting performance and its best defensive effort of the year to turn aside Hood and improve to 7-13 overall and 4-7 in the MAC Commonwealth.

The Lions shot 45.3 percent from the floor, 42.9 percent from the three-point line and 87.0 percent from the free throw line, while limiting the Blazers to a season-low 28.1 percent shooting from the floor.

Ringgold was 7-of-10 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from the three-point line, to lead the Lions. Lindsay surpassed his previous career high of 14 points by making 5-of-11 from the field and 5-of-9 shots from beyond the three-point line.

DeJuan Smith added 14 points and
Jared Rappoport scored a career-high 10 points for the Lions.

Hood, which dropped to 10-9 overall and 4-6 in conference play, was led by Daniel Wegener who scored 16 points.

Albright, which trailed at halftime in each of its last four games, reversed course on Saturday by jumping out to its largest first-half lead of the season.

The Lions used a 22-4 run late in the first half to take a 43-23 lead into the intermission.
Â
Albright led 21-19 with 4:43 to play in the first half before ripping off an 8-0 run.

Rappoport started the run with a layup and a tip-in to increase the Lions lead to 25-19 with 3:58 left in the first period.

Albright increased the lead to 29-19 following two free throws by
Jaylin Calloway and a jumper by
Evan Ward.

Malik Harris cut the lead to 29-21 with a jumper for the Blazers, but Calloway and Lindsay answered with three-point baskets for the Lions that increased the lead to 35-21 with 1:40 left in the first half.

Ward converted a three-point play with 1:13 to play to up the Albright lead to 38-21.

Wegener hit a pair of free throws for the Blazers to trim the lead to 38-23, but Lindsay made two free throws and a three-pointer to give Albright a 43-23 lead at the break.

After Smith hit a three-pointer with 17:35 to play in the game the Lions never led by less than 20 points for the remainder of the contest.

Albright took its largest lead to the game at 88-46 when Rappoport scored inside with 4:33 to play in the second half.

Albright returns to action on Wednesday (Feb. 3) when it hosts Arcadia in a MAC Commonwealth game at 8 p.m. in the Bollman Center.
