GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Albright field hockey team fell to the top ranked team in the nation on Wednesday night, losing to Messiah, 5-1.
Marley Berger scored for Albright.
Messiah held a 20-3 advantage in shots in the match as it took a 5-0 lead into the intermission. The Lions fought back in the second half, outshooting Messiah, 3-2, in the period. One of those shots came from Berger as she netted her second goal of the season on an assist from
Kaley Donmoyer. Donmoyer extended her points streak to five consecutive matches.
Albright goalkeeper
Aileen Taylor, the reigning MAC Commonwealth and ECAC Defensive Player of the Week, recorded six saves.
Amanda Long and
Tracy Snyder recorded shots for Albright.
The Lions return home to face Hood College on Saturday at 7 p.m.
