Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer's Comeback Efforts Fall Short

ANNVILLE, Pa- A pair of first-half goals from Lebanon Valley College proved to be too much for the Lions to overcome as Albright lost 2-1 Saturday afternoon in the team's final contest on the road.

Meghan Ross put the Flying Dutchmen (9-5, 3-3 MACC) in the 20th minute after her teammate Rileigh Jo Evitts sprinted down the right side and crossed the ball to a waiting Ross, who one-touched the ball into the net for the first goal of the game. Less than 15 minutes later, Ross struck again scoring on a rebound to hand Lebanon Valley a 2-0 lead.

The Lions (9-7-1, 3-3-1 MACC) shifted the game's momentum when forward Emily Sousa put Albright on the board less than two minutes after the second half kicked off. Natalie Wilson recovered a Flying Dutchmen turnover and passed it to Sousa, who sailed a shot passed Lebanon Valley's goalie. Despite the Lions offensive surge, Lebanon Valley's lead proved to be insurmountable as the score remained 2-1 until the final whistle.

Offensively, the Lions were outshot by their opponent 16-10. Sousa and Bross recorded three shots apiece, and Crissy Terraces finished the afternoon with two shots. Goalie Alexis Tunney made four saves for the Lions.

Albright returns home on Wednesday when the team hosts crosstown rival, Alvernia University, in its final home game of the regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
