READING, Pa. – The Albright men's soccer team honored six seniors prior to Tuesday night's season finale against Alvernia, but the Crusaders spoiled Senior Night with a 2-0 victory at Shirk Stadium.
Goalkeeper
Billy Mullen helped keep the match scoreless through most of the first half, making three saves in the first. He got some help from one of those seniors along the back line.
Adam Brosonski slid along the goal line to kick away a shot by Adam Orndorff to keep the game scoreless in the 16
th minute.
The game stayed scoreless until the 44
th minute. Jay Ringer took a pass from Orndorff and had his shot get partially deflected by Mullen, but the spin on the ball took it over Mullen and into the goal to make it 1-0.
Anthony Parlato had a shot on goal for the Lions in the first half.
In the second half, Mullen made three more saves for Albright. But the Crusaders managed to grab an insurance tally in the 80
th minute. Vincent Biche centered a ball that deflected off Zach Weidner and past Mullen to make it 2-0.
Alvernia finished the match with a 19-5 shots advantage, but it only held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
