Six Players Net Goals in Loss to Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Six different Albright players scored, but Franklin & Marshall used a fast start to defeat the Lions 17-6 in non-conference play on Wednesday at Tylus Field.

Franklin & Marshall, which improved to 3-2 on the season, raced out to a 4-0 lead and led 7-1 after the first period. The Diplomats outscored Albright 3-1 in the second to stretch the lead to 10-2 at halftime.

Andrew Potter, Cam Cetrone, James Egleston, Derek Stump, Matt Brasher and Nick Tonno all scored for Albright, and Cetrone added a team-leading two assists to finish with three points. Egleston and Jordan Zehr also had assists for the Lions.

Teddy Bossidy and Mike Wasik each had three goals for the Diplomats, while Sean Rogers, Wes Rhudy and Harry Rice each had a pair of goals.

Wasik scored two goals and Rhudy and Rice also scored as Franklin & Marshall jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the 8:26 mark of the opening period.

Albright broke through when Potter scored an unassisted goal to cut the lead to 4-1 with 5:21 to play in the opening period.

The Diplomats closed the first quarter with a 3-0 run, which featured goals from Jack Gladstone, Rhudy and Bossidy, to increase the lead to 7-1.

Cetrone opened the scoring in the second with a goal off a pass from Zehr, which cut the Diplomats lead to 7-2 at the 9:03 mark, but F&M closed the first half with three consecutive goals to take a 10-2 lead into the intermission.

The Diplomats scored six consecutive goals following a goal by Stump to push the lead to 17-3 with 12:00 to play in the game.

Brasher, Tonno and Egleston scored the final three goals of the game for Albright.

Albright returns to action on Saturday (March 12) when it visits Stockton for a 3 p.m. non-conference game.
