Lions Fall in Extra Innings to Dickinson 4-3

CARLISLE, Pa. -- Stephanie Pomante, Jordan Chell and Sammi O'Connor all drove in runs, but Dickinson rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to edge Albright 4-3 at Dickinson Park on Tuesday.

The game was deadlocked at 2-2 after seven innings, but Albright regained the lead in the top of the eighth inning.

Kelly Cembrale was placed on second to open the inning and she raced around to score when Chell reached on a fielding error to put the Lions ahead 3-2.

NicoleTorlincasi was placed on second base for Dickinson to open the inning and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt. She came in to score the tying run on an Albright fielding error.

Another Albright error and a walk loaded the bases and Killian Kueny delivered a game-winning single that scored Nicole Piet.

Albright, which dropped to 24-14 on the season, took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning.

Cembrale was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and advanced to second when Chell reached on a bunt single. Regina Milburn advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt, and O'Connor plated Cembrale when she hit a sacrifice fly giving the Lions a 1-0 lead.

Pomante followed with a single to center that scored Chell and increased the Albright lead to 2-0.

Dickinson, which improved to 15-22 on the season, rallied to tie the game with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

O'Connor went the distance for the Lions and allowed just six hits and two earned runs while striking out seven batters.

Chell, Pomante, Madison Bear and Stephany Courtney had base hits for the Lions.

Albright will conclude the regular season when it faces Stevenson on Saturday (April 30) in a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. in Owings Mills, Md.
