Brittany Lutz fired three shots and goalie
Payton Bogatch made six saves, but Albright dropped its season opener to Bard 1-0 on Thursday at Ferrari Field.
After a scoreless first period, Bard got on the board at the 60:59 mark of the second when Gemma Godfrey fired a shot that hit the post and got past Bogatch giving the Raptors a 1-0 lead.
That was enough for Chloe Ramos who made three saves in goal for Bard to secure the victory.
The contest was a defensive struggle as neither team mounted a consistent offensive attack. Bard finished with 13 shots, while Albright mustered six shots. The Lions did hold a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Lutz paced Albright with three shots, two of which were on goal.
Dylan Shipe,
Megan O'Brien and
Emily Sousa also recorded shots for Albright.
Bogatch allowed just the one goal and made six saves in 90 minutes of play.
Albright returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 4) when it faces Susquehanna on the road at 1 p.m.
