DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Natalie Wilson scored with 4:13 left in regulation time to give Albright a 2-1 win at Delaware Valley Saturday night. The win is the sixth straight victory for the Lions, who now sit at 6-3 on the season. Delaware Valley drops to 2-5-1 with the loss. The six game winning streak is the longest for the Lions since 2005, when Albright won its first six matches of the season.
Albright scored the only goal of the first half in the 40th minute of play. Sophomore
Emily Mollica scored unassisted to give the Lions a 1-0 lead with just over five minutes left before the break. The Lions held a 12-3 advantage in shots over the first 45 minutes of play but could only come up with the one goal.
The score remained 1-0 until the 75th minute, when Karla Keler scored off a rebound for the Aggies to even the score at 1-1. Wilson put the Lions up for good in the 86th minute, collecting a cross from junior
Morgan Valera and driving in a shot off an Aggie defender for the game winning goal.
Sophomore
Payton Bogatch picked up the win in goal for Albright, facing five shots and making one save. The Lions finished the night with 22 shots in the game.
Albright will be back on the road looking for its seventh consecutive win Wednesday night, travelling to Madison, NJ to face FDU-Florham at 7:00 p.m.
