Madison, NJ.- Albright women's soccer team fell in a heartbreaker when the Devils' Kristen Fila scored in the 101st minute to give Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham Campus a 1-0 win in overtime.
Crissy Terraces and
Emily Mollica combined for four of Albright's eight shots on net. Despite outshooting its opponent 14-8 (8-5 on net), the Lions were unable to secure a victory, and witnessed their six-game winning streak end as they fell to 6-4 on the season.
Defense played a major part in Wednesday night's contest as neither team could break open the game during the first 90 minutes in Albright's final non-conference game of the season. Midfielder Brittni Calleo passed the ball to forward Fila, who blasted a shot over Lions' goalie
Payton Bogatch to seal the win for the Devils.
Albright looks to bounce back this Saturday, October 1, when the soccer team travels to Hood College for its first conference game of the season. The Lions will kick-off at 12 p.m.
