Center Valley, Pa.- A pair of second-half goals led DeSales University over Albright's men soccer team when the two teams faced off Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference game. Following the 2-0 loss, the Lions' record now sits at 2-5-2 for the season, while DeSales improves to 5-4-1.
The Bulldogs outshot the Lions 14-8 as well as had a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks during the contest. Midfielder
Andrew Sussingham logged three shots and Albright's lone shot on net. DeSales' goalie, Dan Sulpizo, made the save to shutout the Lions, who were held scoreless for the third time this season.
After a scoreless first-half, the Bulldogs jumped on the board in the 55th minute when midfielder Max Cortina punched in his own rebound. Six minutes later, forward Zach Reichard extended the lead for DeSales when he sailed a rebound of a shot from his teammate past Albright's
Billy Mullen to put the Bulldogs up 2-0.
Albright continues its season on Saturday, October 1, when the team visits Hood College for the team's first conference game of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
