FORT PIERCE, Fla.- Noah Beebe drove in two RBIs lifting Albright past Messiah 4-2, at the Lawnwood Complex.
Messiah put up the first run of the game in the first inning when it scored on a sacrifice fly.
The score stayed at 1-0 until the top of the eighth inning when Albright finally broke through.
Nathan Fretz started the inning off with a walk. Fretz then stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher.
Jeff Yordy was then hit by a pitch, and he also stole second putting runners on second and third with one out.
Beebe doubled to left field driving in both Fretz and Yordy to give Albright a 2-1 lead going into the ninth inning.
In the top of the ninth inning,
Logan Adams started it off by reaching first base on a hit by pitch. Fretz was also hit by a pitch putting runners on first and second with one out.
Jimmie Gentry reached on an error by the third baseman, advancing Fretz to second and scoring Adams to put Albright up 3-1.
With runners on first and second, Gentry advanced to second while Fretz advanced to third on a wild pitch. Yordy sent a sacrifice fly out to center field to pad the Lions lead at 4-1 going into the bottom of the ninth.
Albright let one more run cross the plate in the bottom of the ninth on an error before they took the game 4-2.
Connor Travis started the game on the hill for Albright and picked up the win in a seven inning effort. He gave up one unearned run and struck out seven Falcons on the day.
Mat Costa picked up his first save of the year.
The Lions return home to Reading on March 21 to take on Penn State-Harrisburg. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
