READING, Pa.- Cam Cetrone scored a goal with 22 seconds left to lift Albright past Lycoming, 12-11, at Shirk Stadium.
Lycoming put the first points of the game on the board one minute into the first period. That goal was quickly evened out when
Jordan Zehr answered back for Albright.
Jack Bobel and
Ryan Higgins both added goals to push the Lion's lead to 3-1.
Lycoming pushed the score to 3-2 before
Nick Tonno scored a man-up goal to put Albright back up by two.
Cetrone scored another goal for Albright and Lycoming answered back with two more goals to close out the second period. The Lions went into the half leading 5-4.
Albright came out of the half firing as Higgins and Cetrone scored to push Albright's lead to three.
The Warriors went on a five-goal run that went into the fourth period until it was cut short by a goal from Tonno to make the scored 9-8, Lycoming.
Andrew Potter scored before Lycoming put two more balls in the net.
Lycoming had an 11-9 lead with three minutes left in the game.
Albright was against the ropes but fought back hard as
Derek Stump and Potter scored back to back goals to tie the game up at 11-11 with 2:34 left in the game.
Both teams fought for the final two minutes before Cetrone slashed through defenders and scored the winning goal for Albright with 22 seconds left.
Cetrone netted three goals while Tonno, Higgins and Potter each scored two goals. Bobel, Zehr and Stump each netted one goal for Albright.
Stump also recorded five assists.
Albright outshot Lycoming 38-35. For Albright, 20 of those shots were on goal while 17 were on goal for the Warriors. Albright was perfect on clear attempts going 13-13 while scooping up 43 groundballs.
The Lions return to the field Saturday when they take on Messiah in Grantham. Faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
