STEVENSON, Md. – Stevenson scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in the second game of a doubleheader with the Albright baseball team to earn a walk-off 4-3 victory over the Lions on Sunday afternoon. Stevenson also won the first game of the day, 4-0.
Albright took the lead in the third inning of game two when
Logan Adams singled home
Joe Suppa to make it 1-0. Adams and Suppa each had a pair of base hits, and Suppa added a walk to his day. Suppa doubled with one out in the third before scoring on Adams' single.
The Lions added to their lead in the fourth inning.
Micah Storms led off the frame with a double to left, and
Jimmie Gentry chased him home with a double of his own two batters later to make it 2-0. Stevenson scored twice in its half of the fourth inning, plating a pair of unearned runs against Albright starter
Shaun O'Reilly. He went 3.2 innings for Albright without allowing an unearned run in getting a no-decision.
Albright retook the lead in the top of the fifth inning.
Noah Beebe's infield single with two outs preceded a throwing error that allowed Adams to score the go-ahead run to make it 3-2.
Stevenson scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to get the win. A leadoff double led to the tying run. A single and wild pitch forced the Lions to issue an intentional walk to load the bases with one out, but a single scored the winning run to give Stevenson the weekend sweep.
In game one, a three-run second inning helped the Mustangs to a 4-0 victory.
Matt Fisher allowed just one earned run of the four that crossed in six innings of work.
Albright returns to action at home tomorrow against Moravian in non-conference play at 4 p.m.
