WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming outscored the Lions by a 28-12 margin in the second quarter and the Warriors (4-2, 1-0 MACC) picked up a 74-49 victory over the Albright women's basketball team (3-4, 0-1 MACC) in the MAC Commonwealth opener for both teams on Wednesday night at Lamade Gym in Williamsport.
The loss snaps Albright's winning streak at three games.
Lycoming's Kayla Kline hit four free throws to bookend both ends of a 15-2 run for the Warriors that started the second quarter and the latter pair gave the hosts a 28-15 edge with 4:41 left in the half. The Lions would quickly cut the lead back to 10, but Lycoming responded and an Alex Jones layup in the final seconds made it a 41-25 game heading into the locker room.

Lauren Killion and
Zaria Mohamed had 12 points apiece to pace the Lions, while freshman guard
Shaunna Bruker chipped in with 11 (7-of-8 FTs) and fellow freshman
Gabby Boggs added nine points and nine rebounds.
Kline led four Warriors in double figures with a game-high 19 points, Akilah McFadden added 17, Becca Painter had 11 points and Jenn Grove added 10 of her own.
Albright was hot out of the gate in this one and scored six of the first eight points before Lycoming would score the next eight to take an early 10-6 lead. A jumper from Mohamed kickstarted a 7-0 spurt for the Lions over the next 90 plus seconds and a late free throw from McFadden squared things at 13 apiece at the end of the first quarter.
The Warriors were hot from the field to start the third quarter and led by as many as 22 after a pair of free throws from Painter at the 6:15 mark. The Lions answered with an 8-2 spurt capped by a jumper from Killion at the 3:03 mark of the third quarter, but were unable to get closer than 16 the rest of the way.
Albright shot 17-of-49 (34.2%) from the field and 2-of-9 (22.2%) from beyond the arc, while Lycoming shot at a 42.6% clip (26-of-61) and 21.1% (4-of-19) from deep. The Warriors had 26 points off of 23 Lion turnovers in the contest.

Janice Luck's squad held a 37-31 edge on the boards led by Boggs' nine rebounds and seven apiece from Bruker and Mohamed.
Albright looks to bounce back on Saturday, Dec. 1. when they welcome Lebanon Valley to the Bollman Center for a MAC Commonwealth tilt at 1 p.m.
