Men’s Basketball Hosts Arcadia in Semifinal Wednesday

READING, Pa. –
Top-seeded Albright hosts No. 5 Arcadia in a MAC Commonwealth Championship semifinal game on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. Arcadia defeated No. 4 Messiah, 88-55, in the Play-In Game on Monday night.

Albright students will be admitted free to both semifinal games on Wednesday, courtesy of the office of Sam Wesner, the Vice President of Student and Campus Life.
 
ABOUT ALBRIGHT
Albright is looking for its third MAC Commonwealth title and 11th overall MAC title. With a win on Wednesday, the Lions would return to the title game for the second-straight season after their loss at Lycoming last season. With a win over Arcadia, Albright would host the title game on Saturday as the tournament's top seed.
 
Albright's defense is a large part of its success this season. The Lions rank 17th nationally in field goal percentage defense, 10th nationally in three-point percentage defense, and seventh nationally in defensive rebounding.
 
ABOUT ARCADIA
Arcadia is looking for its first MAC Commonwealth title. The Knights lost in the title game in 2016 to Lycoming, 78-73.
 
Arcadia shot 55.7 percent from the field in its 88-55 victory over Messiah on Monday, and the Knights held the Falcons to just 28.6 percent shooting. Josh Scott led the way with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Da'kquan Davis followed with 21 points while Phil Pierfy chipped in with 15.
 
LINDSAY SETS SCHOOL RECORD
Senior Brandon Lindsay broke the school record for three pointers in a season when he hit four on Saturday in the win over No. 20 Lycoming. He entered the game tied with three other players with 72 makes. He made four on the night, and the record-setter came on a four-point play with 13:55 left in the second half.
 
LIONS RANKED THIRD IN LATEST REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Albright men's basketball team jumped three spots to No. 3 in the latest NCAA Division III Middle Atlantic regional rankings behind York and Johns Hopkins, announced on Feb. 14. Albright defeated Lycoming on Saturday, the seventh-ranked team in the region.
 
In this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, the Lions are receiving votes along with Lycoming.
