READING, Pa. – It may be hard to believe for some, but we are just eight days away from the first Albright athletic games of the 2018-19 school year.
The new school year brings some improvements that were made to the various athletic facilities across campus. Thanks to the contributions of various donors, these improvements include new lights at Shirk Stadium, fully carpeted football locker rooms, a cold whirlpool in the Athletic Training room and a lighting upgrade in the Schumo Center for Fitness and Well-Being.
These upgrades come alongside the renovations that were made to Kelchner Field and unveiled in a ribbon-cutting ceremony in April. A press box and 200-seat spectator area were among the renovations that were made at Kelchner Field.
Albright kicks off the fall sports season on Friday Aug. 31 with four teams hitting the field to start their respective seasons. The field hockey team will host Eastern at 3:30 p.m., and women's volleyball will host Rosemont at 7 p.m. to cap off the home schedule. Albright football will open its season at Salisbury that night at 7 p.m., while Men's soccer will then travel to Immaculata for a 6:30 p.m. contest.
