Tyler Kopp Named Director of Sports Performance

READING, Pa. – On Friday (Jan. 9) morning the Albright athletic department announced the hiring of Tyler Kopp as the college's newest Director of Sports Performance. Kopp will begin work immediately working with all the Albright NCAA sponsored varsity sports.

Kopp joins the Lions after his most recent stint as the Head Football Strength Coach and Assistant Director of Sports Performance at Division 1 Stonehill College. Prior to Stonehill Kopp spent time at the University of Texas Permian Basin serving in the same role and as a Graduate Assistant in the Sports Performance Department of the University of New Haven.  He began his post grad career as a Graduate Assistant at Bethany where he served as the defensive line coach, junior varsity defensive coordinator and ran the strength program for football.

"We are excited to have Tyler to lead our strength and conditioning program," said Associate Director of Athletics Jeff Fieler. "His experience and enthusiasm will be a huge benefit for all of our student athletes helping them perform to their full potential during competition."

Kopp earned his degree from Central Connecticut State University in strategic communications while also playing on the University's football team. Later on, Kopp earned his masters degree from University of New Haven in sport management.

At Central Connecticut State, Kopp played for their football program for two seasons at linebacker being named to the Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll in both seasons and was awarded the schools Provost award as the highest achieving male student athlete in his senior year.
