ABINGTON, Pa. – The Albright Lions men's tennis team (0-3) dropped a 7-2 contest to Penn State Abington (2-0) in non-conference action on Friday afternoon.
Penn State Abington grabbed an early 3-0 lead by virtue of winning all three doubles matches. At the top doubles spot, the Nittany Lions' Ilker Erkut and Michael Litz picked up an 8-5 victory over Albright's sophomores
Dylan Okonski and
Noah Jessie. The Lions'
Zach Schulties and
Brody Brown recorded an 8-6 win against Penn State Abington's Youssef Omar and Philip Antonoff in No. 2 doubles action, while the Nittany Lions recorded a win by default in the third and final spot

In first singles action, Litz topped Jessie in straight sets by a 6-1, 6-0 count. Okonski earned another win for Albright in the No. 2 spot as he got the best of Erkut in three sets (6-2, 1-6, 7-6). At the third singles spot, Omar recorded consecutive 6-4 victories over Schulties and the Nittany Lions captured the point at the No. 4 spot as Alex Sphabmixay defeated Lions' freshman
Ashton Millman by a 7-5, 5-7, 10-4 count. In fifth singles action, Antonoff notched a straight set 6-2, 7-5 victory over Brown and Penn State Abington recorded a win by default at the No. 6 spot.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, Sept. 22 when they host Elizabethtown at 12 p.m.
