READING, Pa. – In their last non-conference game of the season, the Lions fell 3-0 to the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College at Shirk Stadium.
Albright drops to 5-6 and Lancaster Bible improves to 7-2 on the season.
The Lions held off the Chargers in the first 45 minutes of play, as Lancaster Bible took nine shots for Albright's two and senior goalkeeper
Billy Mullen made four key saves.
Lancaster Bible got on the board in the 52
nd minute of the game, as sophomore Rusty Risteen brought the ball down the right side and found junior Michael Eufemia for his fourth goal of the season. The Chargers continued to rally as Eufemia then found freshman Clark Shreiner for a 2-0 lead at 71:53. The final goal of the game came unassisted from senior Dan Bewersdorff, his first of the season.
Lancaster Bible held a dominant 19-5 edge in shots and a 10-2 ratio of shots on goal. Albright's shots came from juniors
Brendan Hanratty and
Alec Power as well as sophomores
Billy Hanratty and
Jeremy Stoner.
Mullen added seven more saves to the season and sophomore goalkeeper
Joshua Cherisien saw time in net for the Lions. Chargers' goalkeeper CJ DeMarsico earned the win with a shutout and two saves.
The Lions look to bounce back as they open conference play at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Stevenson University.
