READING, Pa. – The Albright Lions softball team (8-10) dropped a doubleheader to Penn State Berks (12-8) in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Hintz Athletic Field.
Penn State Berks won game one by a score of 4-1 and captured a 12-4 decision in game two.
Game One
The game was scoreless until the home half of the third when a walk and a single put two runners on for the Nittany Lions and Hunter Hart plated both runners with a two-run triple as part of a three-run inning.
Junior
Camille Sears (2-5) was dealt the loss for Albright after allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits to go along with a walk and a strikeout in six innings of work. Jess Rozick (5-4) surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings to earn the win for Penn State Berks.
The Lions battled back to cut the lead to 4-1 with a run in the sixth as pinch-hitter
Jessica Rodriguez led off with a triple and scored on
Brooke Yerger's RBI single.

Game Two
Penn State Berks opened up an early 5-0 lead with five runs in the first as Becca Faust came through with a two-run single in the inning and Maddy Davidson plated a pair via a two-run triple. The Nittany Lions added five more in the second inning including RBI singles from Davidson and Brianna Smith.
Sophomore
Lynsie Grant (2-1) was dealt the loss for the Lions after giving up eight runs (five earned) on five hits to go along with four walks and a strikeout in 1 1/3 IP. Val Miller (5-2) allowed two runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 IP and registered the win for Penn State Berks.
Albright battled back for two runs apiece in the fourth and fifth as senior
Kelly Cembrale knocked in a pair with a two-run triple, freshman
Nicole Salerno recorded an RBI single and junior
Abigail Lord reached on an error charged to Nittany Lions SS Veronica Maryanski.
Yerger (2-3, SB) and senior
Jordan Chell (2-2) registered multi-hit games for the Lions, while senior
Stephanie Pomante added a double, two walks and a run scored.
Albright hits the road to battle King's (Pa.) in non-conference action on Thursday, April 4. First pitch of game one is set for 3 p.m.
