FREDERICK, Md. – The Albright Lions baseball team (10-21, 5-13 MACC) dropped a doubleheader to the Hood Blazers (23-9-1, 14-4 MACC) on Saturday afternoon at Frederick Community College Baseball Field.
Hood won game one by a score of 4-0 and captured a 6-0 decision in game two.
Game One
The Blazers struck first with a pair of runs in the first as Joe Kroeger plated a run with an RBI single and Andrew Wenner knocked in a run via a sac fly.
Trailing 2-0, Albright had two runners on in both the third and fourth innings, but Hood starter Brad Sawyer was able to work his way out of both jams.
Sawyer (4-0) surrendered five hits while walking two and fanning four to earn the win for Hood. Freshman RHP
Willie Kimmel III (1-4) was dealt the loss for the Lions after giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits to go along with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
Wenner added an RBI single as part of a two-run sixth for the Blazers that extended the lead to 4-0.
Junior
Jimmie Gentry (2-3) registered a multi-hit game for the Lions, while juniors
Logan Adams and
Brandon Daubert and freshman
Jeremy Brubaker also added hits in the contests.
Game Two
Hood struck early in game two as they posted a run in the first and Kroeger came through with a two-run triple in the third to make it a 3-0 game.
Junior
Nick Dinnocenti (1-5) was tagged with the loss for Albright after allowing six runs on 11 hits while walking one in five plus innings of work. Jordan Patterson (6-2) surrendered two hits to go along with four walks and two strikeouts in a complete game effort to earn the win for the Blazers.
The Blazers added a run in the fourth and two in the sixth including a pair of RBI singles from Sam Wheeler that made it a 6-0 game in favor of the hosts.

Josh Jacavage tallied hits in the contest for the Lions and freshman
Nick Sklenarik reached base twice with a pair of walks, while LHP
Daron Pijanowski (0.2 IP, 2 H) and Adams (0.1 IP) combined to toss a scoreless inning in relief.
The Lions return home to host Susquehanna in non-conference action on Tuesday, April 23 with first pitch from Kelchner Field set for 4 p.m.
