DOVER, Del. – The Albright Lions men's lacrosse team held an opponent to one goal for the second time this season as they defeated Wesley 19-1 on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
With the win, the Lions improve to 3-3 overall on the season as they have now won three of their last four games. Meanwhile, the Wolverines fall to 2-2 overall.
Sophomore
Cole Genneken got things started early for the Lions as he scored on their opening possession to make it 1-0 just 1:16 into the first quarter. Albright extended its lead to 2-0 just under two minutes later at the 11:51-mark when sophomore

Alex McKendry notched his first of the game, and classmate
Jacob Cunningham followed at the 8:52-mark to bring the lead to 4-0. Genneken continued the run by adding his second goal of the game just 14 seconds later following a quick faceoff win before the Wolverines ended the run with their lone goal of the game at the 6:55-mark. Genneken responded with his third goal of the quarter on an extra-man opportunity at the 5:46-mark to make it 6-1, and sophomore
Terrell Ringgold made it 7-1 just five seconds later after another quick faceoff win. McKendry capped the strong first quarter with a goal at the 2:18-mark, putting the Lions up 8-1 headed into the second. In the start of the second quarter, McKendry added to the Lions lead at the 12:19-mark before Graser made it 10-1 at the 9:08-mark after collecting a turnover in the Wolverines zone. Genneken found McKendry at the 4:06-mark to put the Lions up 11-1, and followed with his fourth goal of the game at the 2:56-mark. Sophomore
Alex Miller added to the Lions lead with his first goal of the season at the 1:06-mark to make it a 13-1 game, and Broadway finished off the first half with the Lions 14
th goal of the game with 17 seconds left in the second quarter.
Genneken picked up right where he left off to start the third quarter as he put the Lions up 15-1 on a man-up opportunity at the 9:51-mark. Albright's defense continued to force Wolverine turnovers throughout the third quarter, and Genneken scored his sixth goal of the game at the 3:14-mark to make it 16-1. Broadway added his third goal of the game at the 2:38-mark of the third quarter to make it 17-1, capping off a three-goal quarter for the Lions. Junior
John Gilbert extended the Lions goal run to 13 at the 12:53-mark of the fourth quarter with his first of the game, and first-year
Harrison Bodwell scored the final goal of the game at the 7:12-mark. Albright forced 18 Wolverine turnovers in the second half.
The Lions held a sizable 47-22 shot advantage for the game, and a 25-9 advantage in shots on goal. Albright went a perfect 32-of-32 on clears and forced 32 Wolverine turnovers for the contest. Wesley held a 46-39 in ground balls, and a 13-10 edge in faceoff wins. First-year Lion goalkeepers
Liam Ferry and
Ethan Hinman split time in the cage with Ferry coming away with his third win of the season after getting the start. Graser matched the single-game program caused turnover record with six, his third time accomplishing the feat. He also tallied a career-high three points behind two assists and one goal. Genneken registered a career-high 10 points behind six goals and four assists, and has scored 11 goals in his last two games. He became the first Lions player to register double-digit points in a game since Cam Centrone set the program record with 12 points against Arcadia in 2016. McKendry tallied five points behind four goals and one assist, while Cunningham posted four points behind three assists and one goal. Broadway scored three goals in the win as well.
