HAVERFORD, Pa. – In the first road game of the season, the Albright women's lacrosse team fell to Haverford by a score of 18-6 on Wednesday afternoon.
Within the opening minutes of the game, Haverford won the draw control and traveled down the field before Albright's junior goalkeeper
Terae Mason made a save on the initial shot. The Fords' Hailey Morris found the ground ball and scored the first goal of the game. Haverford continued on a 3-0 run before Albright senior

Chloe Fornoff scored Albright's second goal on a free position shot for a score of 7-2. The Fords finished out the half strong, adding five more goals for a score of 12-2 at the half.
The second half began with a goal from Haverford, which was responded to by Albright after first-year
Abigail Hai converted a free position shot for a goal and score of 13-3. Less than 30 seconds later, Hai put another in the back of the net from Baumann before Baumann tallied her own at the 17:46-mark. The Fords recorded six goals in the second half and with just five minutes to go, Hai scored her third of the game for a final score of 18-6.
Haverford held a strong advantage in shots with 38, 31 of them being on goal, while Albright tallied 18 shots on the day with 12 of them being on net. Although both teams were comparable on ground balls, as the Lions recorded 25 and Haverford collected 28, the Fords were 17-of-17 on clears to Albright's 12-of-22. Albright won eight of the 23 draw controls and registered 21 turnovers and Haverford won 15 draw controls, but added 18 turnovers.
After making 13 saves in 60 minutes of action, Mason was dealt the loss for the Lions. Amelia Slade earned the win for Haverford and made one save in the first half, before Sarah Cahn and Tatiana Lathion saw time in the second half. Baumann and Hai each tallied three points for the Lions and Baumann added a game-high seven ground balls. Tortorice took six shots in the matchup and won three draw controls. For the Fords, three players earned four points in Julia Pascarella, Hailey Morris, and Katharine Ference. Anna Meyers led Haverford with four ground balls and both Olivia DiRienz and Eliza Brosgol won four draw controls.
The Lions will travel to Utica, N.Y. on Saturday, March 7
th for a 4 p.m. game to kick off the SUNY Poly Tournament.
