In the regular season, the Lions advanced to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Tournament for the fourth-straight season. Gwynedd Mercy, a member of the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) holds a 20-7 overall record. The Griffins advanced to the AEC Championship Game before falling to Wesley, 91-88.

Scouting the Lions: Albright is coming off a dominant 106-86 win over Centenary in the first round on Wednesday night at the Bollman Center. The Lions never trailed in the contest, and built a lead by as many as 25 points in the first half. Albright was able to fend off a Cyclone rally in the second half as they tallied their most points in a single-game since putting up 107 points against Penn State Berks on November 15th, 2017. Junior Samuel Majekodunmi led six Lions in double-figures for scoring with a team-high 20 points with 16 of them coming in the second half. As a team, Albright matched its season-high with 15 made three-pointers.

Lions in the ECAC Tournament: Albright is in its first appearance in an ECAC Tournament since the 2012-13 season. The Lions hosted the ECAC Division III South Men's Basketball Tournament that season, and advanced to the championship game before falling to Juniata 91-80 in double overtime. It is the fifth overall appearance in an ECAC Tournament in program history, and the Lions have one ECAC championship title that was won in the 2005-06 season.

Scouting the Griffins: Gwynedd Mercy fell 91-88 to Wesley in the Atlantic East Tournament Championship Game last Saturday afternoon. The Griffins went down by as many as 17 points in the second half before mounting a late comeback attempt that just fell short. Senior Rich Dunham recently earned All-Atlantic East First Team honors after ranking second in the conference in scoring at 20.6 points per game. Dunham is also one of the best free throw shooters in all of NCAA Division III as he ranks eighth nationally at 90.7 percent. The Griffins rank third in the Atlantic East Conference in scoring at 77.8 points per game, while ranking second in points allowed at 70.9 points per game.

The Griffins in the ECAC Tournament: Gwynedd Mercy is making its fourth all-time appearance in an ECAC Tournament, and first since the 2011-12 season. The Griffins advanced to the ECAC South Region Tournament final in the 2007-08 season where they lost to Carnegie Mellon, 75-67.

Series/Last Meeting: This will be the first meeting between the two schools since the 2007-08 season when they met in the ECAC South Region Tournament. Albright was the host for the tournament, and Gwynedd Mercy came out on top by a score of 83-78 to even the all-time series at 2-2.

Head Coaches: Rick Ferry has posted a 274-222 record in 19 seasons as the head coach of Albright. He is currently the second winningest men's basketball coach in Albright history, and has led the Lions to 13 MAC Commonwealth Tournament appearances. Under Ferry, the Lions have won two MAC Commonwealth Championships in addition to making two NCAA Tournament appearances with the previous coming in the 2017-18 season. He has also been the coach for all five ECAC Tournament appearances.

John Baron is in his 17th season as the head coach of the Griffins. Baron has accumulated a 337-159 record in his 17 seasons in Gwynedd Valley, and has led the program to six NCAA Tournament appearances. The most recent came last year in the 2018-19 season when the Griffins advanced to the second round of the tournament after upsetting a nationally-ranked Plattsburgh State team. Under Baron, the Griffins have also won five conference titles (3 PAC, 1 CSAC, 1 AEC).
