ASTON, Pa. – The Albright women's basketball team used a strong fourth quarter to cruise past Neumann with a 63-49 non-conference win on Saturday.

With the win, the Lions advance to 3-2 overall while the Knights fall to 2-4.

Senior Maggie O'Hare found her rhythm as she led the Lions with 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field, 3-of-7 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. Senior Gabby Boggs tallied her fifth-straight double-double with 17 points on 4-for-9 shooting from the field and 9-for-11 from the free throw line while grabbing a season-high 19 rebounds. Seniors Brady Wassel and Abby Gaffney added eight points apiece.

The Lions got off to a slow start as they struggled to score until almost five minutes into the first quarter. The two teams battled back and forth as the lead swapped six times throughout the first ten minutes of action. Albright closed out the first quarter on a 7-1 run that was sparked by a layup from Gaffney and capped off with a three-pointer from Wassel to put the Lions ahead 20-15 at the end of the first. A free throw from Boggs and a three from senior Emma Blewett put Albright ahead nine within two minutes into the second stanza. Albright continued a strong second quarter, outscoring Neumann 17-7 to take a 37-22 lead entering the break.

The Knights rallied in the third quarter and went on a 14-3 run to get within four of the Lions. Boggs snapped the run with a layup at the 2:48-mark, but Neumann responded with another bucket on their next possession cut their deficit to 42-38. The Knights knocked down a three to get within two points of the Lions, but O'Hare scored the final basket of the quarter to keep Albright in the lead at 45-41. O'Hare then converted an and-one to start the fourth quarter to put the Lions ahead by six. The Knights then scored six unanswered points to tie the game up at 48 with just over five minutes left to play. The Lions finally got their footing on both ends of the ball as they locked down on defense and outscored the Knights 15-1 in the final five minutes of action to claim a 63-49 non-conference win.

Albright shot 20-for-50 (40%) from the field, 7-for-19 (36.8%) from beyond the arc, and a solid 16-for-19 (84.2%) from the charity stripe.
