READING, Pa. – The Albright women's lacrosse team saw their five-game win streak snapped Wednesday afternoon as they were defeated by #9 York 18-2 to close out MAC Commonwealth regular season play at Shirk Stadium.
With the loss, Albright falls to 7-5 overall and 4-4 in MAC Commonwealth play while York advances to 10-1 overall and 7-1 in conference.
York dominated out of the gate with five unanswered goals to start the game. Albright finally got on the board at the 15:39-mark of the first half with a goal from junior

Taylor Filmer. York closed out the first half with four unanswered goals to bring the score to 9-1 leading into the second half.
The Spartans had the opening goal of the second half to bring their lead to 10-1 at the 28:58-mark. Junior
Abbie Moist registered a goal for the Lions at the 26:52-mark off a free-position shot. Unfortunately, this would be Albright's final goal as York kept the momentum the rest of the game, ending it on an eight-goal run to claim the 18-2 win.
The Spartans held a 39-23 shot advantage over the Lions, registering 33 on goal. York also held a slight 11-9 ground ball advantage and pulled down 16 draw controls to Albright's five. Senior goalkeeper
Terae Mason held her own in net, completing 15 saves in 60 minutes of play despite receiving the loss for the Lions. Junior goalkeeper Riley DiFiore earns the win for the Spartans making ten saves in 46:51 minutes of play. Filmer, Taylor, and Moist each added one point on the afternoon. Taylor and junior
Lexi Pitkevits each pulled down two draw controls for the Lions. Spartan Celly Arthur led the game with ten points off three goals and seven assists.
The Lions return to action Saturday at 1pm as they travel to FDU-Florham in MAC crossover action.
