GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Albright Lions field hockey team was defeated 8-0 by Arcadia on Friday night in non-conference action.
With the loss, the Lions drop to 0-2 on the season as they played their second game in two days. Meanwhile, the Knights start the season 1-0 in their first season as a member of the MAC Freedom.
Arcadia jumped on the Lions early as they scored three goals within a 3:39 span in the first quarter. Two of the goals came following penalty corners. The Knights extended their lead to 4-0 just 53 seconds in into the second quarter as they continued to control play. Albright registered its first shot in the 28th minute of the contest. Chelsea Johnson had a shot that just went wide of the cage. The Knights made it a 5-0 game in the 40th minute despite receiving a yellow card just 57 seconds earlier. Arcadia added three goals in the fourth quarter to conclude the game.

Adele Thomas suffered the loss after starting the game and playing the whole first quarter. Sophomore
Veronica Heckman made her collegiate debut as she made one save in the final 45 minutes of action. Gracie Fenner earned the win for the Knights after making one save in the full 60 minutes of action. Autumn Gahman paced the Knights with five points behind three goals and two assists.
Albright will return to action on Wednesday, September 8th as they will travel to face Delaware Valley at 4 p.m.
