Men's Tennis Downed by Lancaster Bible

 
READING, Pa. – The Albright Lions men's tennis suffered an 8-1 loss to Lancaster Bible on Thursday afternoon in non-conference action at the Albright Tennis Courts.
 
With the win, the Lions fall to 0-2 overall on the season. The match was a resumption of the original date against the Chargers last Wednesday that was suspended due to rain. Lancaster Bible will open their 2021-22 season 1-0.  
 
Lancaster Bible won all three of the doubles points to take an early 3-0 lead in the match. At the first doubles spot, Lancaster Bible's Devon Clemmer and Micah Weaver defeated the Lions duo of junior Arpit Gainder and senior Trent Tyer. 8-4. First-year Clay Lewandowski and junior Mike Vogt were defeated in the No. 2 doubles spot by AJ Kwiatkowski and Malachi Bomgardner by a score of 8-1, while the duo of First-year Kobe Serpa and senior Ron Andanje fell 8-5 at the No. 3 doubles spot to Spencer Grogan and Andrew Moore.
 
In singles, Vogt earned the lone win for the Lions in the No. 5 spot as he defeated Grogan 6-1, 6-4. Gainder fell to Clemmer 4-6, 1-6 in the No. 1 spot, while Tyer was defeated by Weaver 0-6, 3-6 in the No. 2 spot. Serpa suffered a 2-6, 0-6 setback in the No. 3 spot before Lewandowski fell 2-6, 1-6 at the No. 4 spot to Kwiatkowski. Andanje suffered a 4-6, 2-6 setback to Moore at the No. 6 spot. 
 
The Lions will return to action on Saturday, October 2nd as they will travel to face Gwynedd Mercy at 11:30 a.m.
