READING, Pa. – The Albright women's basketball team suffered a 57-55 MAC Commonwealth loss to Stevenson in the Bollman Center on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss the Lions fall to 3-4 in conference action and 8-5 overall. Meanwhile, the Mustangs improve to 3-5 in conference and 5-9 overall.

Gabby Boggs led Albright with a game-high 22 points behind 6-for-15 shooting, 11 rebounds, and two blocks. Senior
Amina Rauf followed with nine points on 3-for-11 shooting from the field and 1-for-5 from beyond the arc. Senior
Abby Gaffney added eight points on 3-for-4 shooting from the field and 2-for-2 from three-point range. Senior
Brady Wassel grabbed 11 rebounds and tallied seven points on 3-for-10 shooting.
Gaffney got the Lions started with a three-pointer and a layup to give Albright an early 5-0 lead. The Mustangs didn't hang their heads for long as they scored nine unanswered points to take a 9-5 lead at the 4:44-mark. Another three from Gaffney got Albright within one. Stevenson closed out the first quarter with a 6-4 advantage to hold onto a 15-12 lead. Albright opened up the second quarter with a 7-2 advantage that was capped off with a three from Rauf to take a 19-17 lead. Stevenson tied the game up at 19 and the two teams traded leads twice more. Maggie O'Hare knocked down a three and Boggs netted one in the paint to take a 26-20 lead at the 2:43-mark. The Mustangs scored the final bucket of the half to cut their deficit to 26-22 entering the break.
The Mustangs netted back-to-back buckets to open up the second half and tie the game up at 26. The two teams battled back-and-forth, tying the game up four more times before Albright pulled ahead 33-36 with an and-one from Boggs and a basket from Rauf at the 4:32-mark. Stevenson took back the lead with back-to-back baskets, but Boggs netted a pair of free-throws to put Albright back in front 38-37. Stevenson jumped ahead once more with a bucket and a pair of free throws but Wassel had the final bucket of the third to keep Albright within one, bringing the score to 41-40. The Lions used a 9-7 advantage throughout the final stanza to take a 49-48 lead following a three-pointer from Wassel. The Mustangs responded with a three of their own, but Boggs tied the game up at 51 with 1:40 left to play. The Mustangs used a 6-2 run fueled by two key three-pointers to pull ahead 57-53 with 21 seconds remaining. Boggs notched two final free-throws for the Lions but it their late efforts would not be enough to overcome Stevenson who claimed the 57-55 win.
Albright shot 18-for-52 (34.6%) from the floor, 5-for-19 (26.3%) from beyond the arc, and a perfect 14-for-14 (100%) from the charity stripe. The Lions notched 24 points in the paint and earned 12 second chance points. Meanwhile, Stevenson shot 24-for-63 (38.1%) from the field, 4-for-12 (33.3%) from three-point range, and 5-for-8 (62.5%) from the free-throw line. The Mustangs held a slight 38-37 advantage on the boards and tallied 30 points in the paint.
The Lions will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to York to continue conference play at 6 p.m.
