York, PA - The Albright Lions fell to York by a score of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Lions to 2-8 on the season and 0-3 in conference play, York improved to 8-2 and 3-0
York got out to an early lead just four minutes into the game, scoring on a Katie Martino goal. York would double their lead early on the second quarter on another goal from Martino. York would take that 2-0 lead into halftime.
Albright came out in the second half, and would cut the lead less than a minute into the third quarter on a
Laurel Gingrich goal, assisted by
Chelsea Johnson.
Albright would spend the rest of the half looking to tie things up, but were unable to, giving York the 2-1 win.
York led the way in shots, outshooting the Lions 18-7, and taking more corners, 19-9.
Gingrich had both of the Lions shots on goal in the game. Goalkeeper
Veronica Heckman made nine saves in the game.
