Field Hockey Picks Up Dominant Win

Williamsport, PA - The Albright Lions picked up a win against Lycoming by a score of 5-1 Tuesday night. The win improves the Lions record to 3-8, while Lycoming falls to 2-8.

The Lions got out to a fast and furious start, scoring in the 5th minute of the game on a Morgan Kopcik goal, assisted by Chelsea Johnson. Just three minutes later, Johnson would score a goal assisted by Shannon Griffin to make it 2-0. Just one minute after that, Lamya Mejias found the net, with her goal being assisted by Olivia Lorah. Albright held a 3-0 lead headed into the second quarter.

Early in the second, the Lions would tack on a nother goal, this time by Molly Shore. This would give the Lions the 4-0 lead that they would take into halftime with.

Lycoming got on the board with a goal late in the third quarter, but the Lions would get it back in the fourth quarter when Laurel Gingrich scored the Lions fifth goal of the game.

Albright held the shooting advantage 15-2, with 10 of those shots happening in the first quarter. The Lions also held the advanatage in penalty corners by a 16-6 margin.

Veronica Heckman started in goal for the Lions, and made one save.

Up Next - The Lions will return home for Senior Day on Saturday, October 8th. They will take on Stevenson at 1pm.
